Use the Internet revolution to make passive income

Gone are the days when up and coming, revolutionary and talented writers had to struggle to get themselves noticed, let alone get published and earn a living from their passion for writing. Writers like Charlotte and Anne Bronte had to write and write for days and months at length and allow there work to wait in queue on the publishers’ desk for it to get published and receive a cheque in the mail. For decades, writers have had trouble getting publishers to pay them their due royalties and not just get ripped off of their own work! But the internet has brought with it the “writing renaissance”.

If writing is your passion, you want to get your work to be read, receive reviews and make a living through it (at least keep it as a side line passive earning method) then halleluiah! You are born in just the right era! You can at last turn your written work; your blog into a pay cheque! The internet and worldwide web has revolutionized the way people publish and access information and even receiving reactions on your work has become an instantaneous process. The internet market is bursting with opportunities for writers, thanks to the multi-million advertising market. We must not forget that with time the writing industry is getting more and more competitive as a result of burgeoning writers with sound writing skills. This point is explained in detail below, first get started mate!

Getting started: Make Use of the FREE blogging sites

So where to start? Need a platform to express yourself. No worries. There are numerous sites which offer free services. Yes absolutely FREE. You can have a free blog, domain and lots of free technical help to get started. Make use of the free blog services and get started today. There are dozens of them around the web. However, before plunging to write for each and every on of them consider their policies, the services, hidden fees and affiliate programme policy. You don’t want to get stuck with something inconvenient, which might ask for fees later on, something which does not support or has poor traffic. Here I am suggesting some sites with good online reputation and traffic.

· HubPages…here’s why you should join HubPages. HubPages provides a whole network along with easy to use technical services and all you have to do is provide good quality work and attract readers to your hubs.

· Xomba

· Blogger

· Infobarrel

· Squiddoo

Be sure you join those where you can actually write, concentrate on your work and get proper traffic to generate revenue from them. Any neglected blogs won’t hurt unless you try to juggle between them, get stress and frustrated and give it up. Don’t give up. The sensible way to do is to join a couple or more, concentrate on your content and connect them together to share the traffic between them. And while you are busy posting new blogs you will discover you have already started attracting a fan following and making a passive earning.

Produce Quality Work

Readers love novel and unoque content. A good quality work on any topic is impressive especially if you have grasp over it. Write about what you know best so that you make sense and leave an impression on your readers. They should feel satisfied and want to come back for more.

Make sure you have a good command over the language in which you are writing (most sites accept English mainly) and also that your content is unique and belongs to you. Copying others work will in the long run ruin the writer’s reputation and may even get them banned from certain sites. Its just not worth plagiarizing.

Monetize-thats how you are going to get into the money making business

Monetizing your blog is how you will actually make money. Most people have heard of only a few affiliates like Google Adsense, Amazon or Kontera but there are various more legitimate affiliate programs which provide good payments through convenient methods which suite their needs. In fact the main reasons why you should sign up for any affiliate are:

· Good pay/salary

· Payment method which suites you!

Some affiliates pay through bank-wire, cheques and gift cards which pose limitations for some publishers. These options are not available through out the world and the affiliates don’t offer them in all countries too. So choosing the right affiliate programme is extremely essential. Those affiliates which pay through PayPal are most popular and more convenient to use since paypal is available in almost every country of the world (with the exception of a very few countries). Some affiliates need someone to refer you since they need a good reference and don’t trust every blogger and blog content.

I have tried the following affiliates, other than Google Adsense, myself and have found them to be quite useful:

· Kontera

· Amazon

· Bidvertiser (to be referred by a blogger, click here)

· Infolinks

· Link Show off (to show your site-link on a blog, click here)

· Paydotcom (to be referred by a blogger, click here)

Promote, Network and Publicize

Networking comes next. If you have honed socializing skills (which many of us have) it will not be difficult to get traffic to your sites. Social networking sites help a lot here, like face book, twitter, myspace, yahoo buzz, google buzz and many others help a lot here. However, with tremendous content competing to be read on the internet, you need to do some additional promotion as well. There are various ways of promoting your site. Some sites allow others to put their site link on theirs for free or for a small fee as little as $1. If you can spare a few dollars (and are making enough from your affiliate programs), then its worth it to promote your site. If you wish to show your link for as little as $1, click here.

Sites which allow more traffic over time are:

You can sign up with these sites, bookmark your sites, write reviews and allow others to view, review, comment on and recommend your sites to a lot more viewers. SheToldMe also allows revenue Google Adsense revenue sharing. The scoops you write will be able to the public and even be search-able on the google search engine. One google adsense "ad" block will be available 100% of the time on our scoop all the time. It will be available to all the viewers and they will be allowed to click on it if they wanted to (allowing you to make more money through Google Adsense). Hence, it gets you best of both worlds. You can publicize and promote your blog and articles (resulting in improved traffic to your blog or site) and increase your revenue to some degree depending on the viewings and clicks.

Finally, a little patience: You won’t get rich over night but of course, as people will visit your blog, you will get more traffic generate revenue .  Just be a little patient and keep writing. Good quality, original and unique content will get people coming to your blog in no time. Get started today and reap the benefits.

VERY helpful for a novice like me. I am so far over my head, it's pathetic. Kids know more than I do about this. But I'm not giving up, and I have people like you to thank.
